I must confess...I've never been camping...there I said it!

I know it is so lame of me to be obsessed with vintage campers, when I have never even been camping before. I guess I am addicted to indoor plumbing and AC, and renting an RV when the kids were little was OUT of the question. We could have stayed at the finest hotels for the cost of renting one, paying nightly hook up fees, not to mention the 4 gallons per mile !
I have begun to enjoy the beautiful State Parks in Alabama though and that has added to my yearning for a small but air conditioned possibly with a toilet type camper. I don't know if it will ever happen, but, I do enjoy the day dream!

  1. I hope your dreams come true. Camping isn't for me, but there is something intriguing about the idea.

  2. I saw a guy pulling a brand new little "teardrop" behind a very small vehicle (Kia Sole? Soul? whatever). He had a kayak on the top of the car, and was buzzing down the highway toward the beach area. I thought about the first post I ever read on your blog about vintage campers!!

I don't have good camping experiences to relate...someday I may be brave enough to blog about them!!! LOL

  3. Gosh, now a days, camping is just like being at home. You don't have to sleep directly on the ground anymore. I would have loved that when I was a kid. Camping is lots of fun. Keep us posted and take many pics when you go:)

p.s. Thanks for the follow and it was nice chatting with you in the chat on Etsy last night-wink

  4. We have a 5th wheel and we love it. A very long time ago we camped in a tent - ONCE! It rained and stormed and I said NEVER again. Later we bought a pick up camper which was nice but there was no bathroom. Our 5th wheel is just perfect. We decided against an RV because we didn't want to have to pull a car behind us.

  5. I used to love going camping with my parents when I was a small child. It was all we could afford back in the late 50s and 60s.

We had some great times and certainly saw most of the British Isles, including Lands End and John O'Groats.

    Oh what happy memories.
