Ok, now that I have jumped up and down, my favorite winter tradition is making candy! Just something about it being cold outside in a warm kitchen with lots and lots of Christmas candy!

  3. I just love your shop! Everything is so lovely and affordable. I'm definitely adding your cowls and headbands to my Christmas wish list. :)

My favorite holiday tradition is decorating the tree while sipping on ice cold eggnog. Mmm... yummy!

  4. A small yet a meaningful tradition that my husband and I have. When we got married 8 1/2 years ago, a close friend of mine gave us a jar that said 'Blessings' on it. She gave us ideas of how to use it and we went with it and love that little jar! So, all year long we write down people, places, things, etc - that have been a blessing to us. We read them aloud together on Thanksgiving day. It's amazing how we can always remember the negative things that have happened to us over our lifetimes, but how easily we forget the positive things! We love this little tradition because it keeps us humble and helps us to remember all of the good things that happened to us all year long and it makes us feel so thankful to God! We keep all of the blessings each year (because bits of paper does not take up too much space), and once in awhile, we go through and read them all again to remind us that we have been blessed over the years despite the trials and tribulations! ~Jillian~

  5. What great give-away goodies!

My favorite tradition has been getting together with my dad's side of the family every Christmas Eve. We all get together for dinner at one families house... disperse for our Christmas Eve services at our home churches... and then gather again at another families house for dessert and presents! Though the years as a kid were a blast running around with my cousins, the past year (and this year coming up) will mean a lot because my grandma has developed Alzheimers--which is quickly progressing. This disease makes you put into perspective the importance of family... and I hope that as our families change and grow, we can still continue our tradition as long as possible and create many more years of memories!!

  6. My comment might seem kind of weird, but, my favorite part of the holiday season, is finding new things to adapt into traditions. My family is still young, my oldest is only 3, so things haven't really "stuck" yet. Something that we're going to do this year, is make pretend reindeer food to sprinkle outside the night before Christmas, that way rudolph knows where to land. Baking Christmas cookies, of course. This year I'm going to attempt to wrap all of our Christmas presents in handmade wrapping paper. I think that if I can pull it off, that might be a really fun tradition, that the kids can get involved with every year. We'll see!!

  7. these are very cool items you've made!

My fav tradition is on thanksgiving. Once the sun goes down my husband and I head down to the Country Club Plaza here in Kansas City, grab a latte then watch the lights come on that have been strung carefully around each building.

  8. Please enter me! :)

I love Christmas! One of the things we do is to keep our Christmas cards, and in the evenings after Christmas when we have our family devotions, we choose a Christmas card and pray for the person or family that sent it. :)

  9. I love the scarf :)

My favourite part of Christmas is placing our ten year old little robin decoration into our tree. It's always the last thing we place onto our tree each Christmas. So silly really!

  12. Oooh I would love that scarflette! The headband is cute too! Every year we draw names for our Pollyanna at Thanksgiving dinner. Our Pollyanna has to be handmade and the supplies can't cost much. We have been doing this fir about 15 years. At times it is stressful with all of the last minute projects(I have 4 kids) but we have a lot laughs when we exchange on Christmas eve! We usually have at least 20 participants.

  13. My favorite tradition is Cookie Day! My friends and family get together, roll, cut, and decorate cookies, while we all watch every holiday special we can get our hands on and have a grand old time. Oddly, we don't eat many of the cookies-- somehow making them is more satisfying! Instead we give them to the mailman and neighbors and co-workers, so everybody we know can have some of the fun!

And I love love love that scarflette! So soft and cozy looking...

I also like the season of Ramadan as well because you get to fast and share food with others and to be grateful for what you have . tumblemumbo(at)gmail(dot)com

  23. The holidays are not a huge celebration in my home (no kids), but I ALWAYS love displaying all of my favorite ornaments. There is just something about those beautifully crafted bulbs that makes me happy.
Baking cookies is also a big event that is not to be missed. Flour in the hair and cookie dough smudged onto every surface is part of the fun.

  24. We have a lot of traditions in my family for Christmas, one of the most memorable is Christmas .Every year the family gathers at my parents house after the Christmas eve service at our church. Mom makes oyster stew, a German tradition passed down through the years. after we eat everyone grabs a candle and we walk through the house singing Christmas carols about Jesus, the youngest child in the family places the baby Jesus in the manger on the mantle.---To close the night, we all sit around the Tree and open one gift.

  26. What a lovely blog you have, and you are such a talented lady - it's been a long time since I've done any crochet.

My favourite Christmas day tradition is to let the dog open his stocking first - yes he does get one and even knows which it is LOL

We then spend a good half hour laughing whilst watch him chase is latest toy around the lounge room

I'll be back to visit again soon Jo x
